Virtual tour of the Mexborough Elective Orthopaedic Centre coming soon

Panjango, a specialist video recording company were on site today (24 January) to create a virtual tour of MEOC, the new orthopaedic surgery facility at Montagu Hospital.

If you haven’t had the chance to see the new MEOC unit for yourself, you will soon be able to take a look around through an immersive experience that captures the patient journey.

Panjango record the Rockingham Day Ward area.

Through the use of a specialised camera, a series of 360 degree images are collected and then seamlessly integrated into a walkthrough that details the different areas within the unit. The interaction will feature a map of the facility that can be explored, along with active points that provide extra information about each clinician and the type of treatments performed within the centre.

The virtual tour has been commissioned so that patients can access the walkthrough prior to attending their surgery to help them feel more informed about their care and therefore less anxious about their operation. Once the work has been completed by Panjango, the tour will be made accessible on the MEOC patient webpage on the Trust website.

Panjango have previously worked with the Trust to create a virtual tour of the modular theatres in Women’s and Children’s Hospital at DRI last year.
