Contact service

We understand that the loss of a pregnancy can be an incredibly difficult and emotional journey. Our dedicated team are here to provide compassionate care, support, and guidance to you and your loved ones during this challenging time.

You will be cared for by the maternity team on Central Delivery Suite at Doncaster Royal Infirmary (DRI) or the Labour Ward at Bassetlaw Hospital from 16 weeks during a pregnancy loss. If you choose to deliver your baby at DRI, following birth, a review will take place by our obstetric team, and you may be suitable to be transferred to our dedicated bereavement suite, The Serenity Suite. This is a place where you can spend time with your baby in a more homely environment, if you feel this would benefit you.

If under 16 weeks of pregnancy, you will be cared for on our gynaecology ward, G5.

Our specialist bereavement midwives and nurses will work with the wider team to provide care and support that is most suited to your needs, depending on the circumstances of your loss. This could include, but is not limited to, the fetal medicine team, midwives, obstetricians, chaplains, and the mortuary team.

Together, we aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment where you can openly express your feelings, receive personalised care, and find comfort in knowing that you are not alone in your grief. Our bereavement midwives and nurses will provide support to you for as long as you need after the loss of your baby.
