An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Apprentice to join our Inventory Management Team within our Procurement department at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. You will join a team of Inventory management assistants to replenish stock around the hospital ensuring stock is available at all times.

This position requires a very motivated individual with strong communication skills to assist the Inventory Team Manager in the delivery of an effective and efficient stock management Service to the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role will involve discussions with clinical staff to ensure stock levels are kept accurate and stock takes counts are run regularly.

We are looking for an individual with previous Inventory management experience with either a qualification in purchasing and supplies or would work towards completing the appropriate course.

Main duties of the job:

  • Replenishing stock in agreed wards and departments around the Trust
  • Receipting of goods delivered ensuring stock levels are maintained at all times
  • Finding stock replacements when required when items are out of stock
  • Agree levels of stock with Ward Managers/Sisters
  • Liaise with Category team, Category specialist regarding new stock, stock outs etc
  • Manual handling – unload stock onto shelves
  • Moving of roll cages to agreed spaces around the Hospital
  • Regular Stock takes
  • Assisting other team members when necessary e.g. holiday and sickness
