Together, our Board of Directors, Council of Governors and Trust members help guide the way we deliver care and plan for the future.
Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Trust and, with input from the Council of Governors, helps shape its future direction.
The Board monitors performance against national, regional and local objectives, and ensures the highest standards of care and service are maintained across our hospitals.
While the Trust is led by the Board of Directors, they remain accountable to the Council of Governors.

Council of Governors
The Council of Governors includes 20 members elected by Trust members, alongside six staff governors, two public governors, and 11 governors nominated by our partner organisations.
Public and staff governors are elected by their respective constituencies, while partner governors are appointed by their organisations.
To contact a member of the Council or for more information, please reach out to the Foundation Trust Office. Find out more, and read meeting minutes here.
Trust Members
Trust membership is free and open to anyone. As a member, you’ll receive regular updates about the Trust, invitations to events and the annual members’ meeting, and the opportunity to help shape how we operate. You can also vote in governor elections – or stand as a governor yourself.
We currently have around 16,000 members. Find out how to join here.
