Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors are responsible for the management of our hospitals and, with input from the Council of Governors, sets the future direction of the Trust.

They are also responsible for monitoring performance against national, regional and local objectives and ensuring the highest levels of standards and performance.

Whilst the Trust is managed by the Board of Directors, the Board is accountable to the Board of Governors.

Council of Governors

The Council of Governors is made up of 20 governors elected by members of the Trust, six staff governors, two public governors and 11 partner governors elected by our partner organisations.

Public and staff governors are elected by the members in their constituencies, while partner governors are nominated by their organisation.

If you need to get in touch with a member of the Council of Governors, or should you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to do so through the Foundation Trust Office.

Members of the Trust

Being a member means being kept up to date with developments, receiving invites to member events and the annual meeting and also being able to have a say about how the Trust is run.  You will also get a vote in governor elections or could even stand yourself. At the moment there are around 16,000 members at the Trust.
