DBTH’s Professor Parveen Ali, Makes History with Prestigious Fellowship Induction at American Academy of Nursing

Recognised for her exceptional contributions to healthcare, Professor Parveen Ali, who holds a joint position at the University of Sheffield and Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital, serving as a Professor of Nursing and Gender-Based Violence, has earned a well-deserved induction into the esteemed American Academy of Nursing. 

Parveen stands as one of 253 nurse leaders inducted into the 2023 Class of Fellows. This brings the American Academy of Nursing’s total fellowship to 3,000, comprising the most accomplished individuals in the areas of policy, research, administration, practice, and academia. 

Notably, Parveen is making history as the first British Pakistani Nurse to achieve this prestigious honour.

Parveen boasts a wealth of accomplishments, holding titles such as Registered Nurse, Registered Nurse Teacher, Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy, and Fellow of Faculty of Public Health, among others. 

As a distinguished leader, Parveen not only heads the MMedSci Advanced Nursing Studies programme she also serves as the Deputy Director of Research and Innovation within the School of Allied Health Professions, Nursing, and Midwifery. 

Her position at DBTH is focused on nurturing research capabilities among Nurses, Midwives, and Allied Health Professionals, further underscoring her commitment to advancing healthcare practice and knowledge. 

Speaking about her induction Parveen Said: “I am filled with profound gratitude for being chosen as a recipient of the prestigious fellowship from the American Academy of Nursing. Additionally, I am deeply honoured to be the first British Pakistani Nurse to receive this esteemed award.
