Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) will be holding a number of information events as it begins the search for skilled and energetic Non-executive Directors to join the Trust’s Board of Directors in the near future.
DBTH is one of Yorkshire’s leading acute trusts, serving a population of more than 420,000 across South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and the surrounding areas. Employing over 6,000 people across three main hospital sites and a number of additional services, the Trust is one of only five Teaching Hospitals in Yorkshire and by 2018 is projecting to train 25% of all medical students in the region, currently training 30 per cent of all other healthcare professional students.
Non-executive Directors (NED) play a crucial role by bringing an independent perspective to the Trust boardroom. They support the Chair, promote NHS values and contribute valuable insight and experience to the development of the organisation.
With a number of posts available in the coming months, the Trust will be holding information events for those interested to find out more, both about the position and the organisation. These sessions will take place:
- Monday 23 October, 10 to 11.30am at Bassetlaw Hospital and 2-3.30pm at Doncaster Royal Infirmary
- Tuesday 24 October, 10am-11.30am at Bassetlaw Hospital and 5.30-7pm at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
Suzy Brain England OBE, Chair of the Board, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to find out more about the position of NED and the crucial role they play in guiding the organisation both strategically and ensuring patient quality is sustained and improved.
“Earlier this year we became a teaching hospital, a significant achievement for the Trust and recognition of our ambition and drive to continually improve for the benefit of our patients. If you have an interest in joining DBTH, come along to one of these sessions and help us build towards, what promises to be, a bright future for the Trust.”
To register your attendance at one of the sessions call Matthew Kane, Trust Board Secretary, on 01302 644157 or email matthew.kane1@nhs.net. Vacancies will be advertised on the Trust’s website, www.dbth.nhs.uk, in the coming weeks.
