Local Hospital Trust to host virtual Annual Members’ Meeting

Health professionals at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) will host its Annual Members’ Meeting on Thursday 23 September, which will take place digitally.

The event is an opportunity to hear about the work and achievements of the organisation in 2020/21, particularly in light of COVID-19, and will take place at 6pm.

Suzy Brain England OBE, Chair of the Board at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH), said: “Since we became a Foundation Trust, we have held a meeting every year for our members to attend and receive an update on the previous 12 months. Last year, due to the restrictions on large meetings and social distancing measures in place, our Annual Members’ Meeting had to take place virtually for the first time ever.

“Although we had to move to these arrangements out of necessity, the feedback we received suggested that it made the meeting much more accessible, while other members were able to watch it at their leisure and in keeping with their busy schedule – so we will be doing it again this year.

“Even though we will miss seeing you all there in person, we are excited that you can now attend the meeting from the comfort of your own home using video technology and we hope that this will make the event more convenient for you.

“Whilst the latter months of the year required the Trust to fundamentally change the way we provide care due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we must not forget that the past year has been full of promise and improvement for the Trust and this is an opportunity for our Board of Directors, Council of Governors and members to come together to reflect on this performance.”

The meeting will be conducted online but it will follow a similar agenda to previous years. There is an option to submit questions beforehand and members wishing to do so should head to: https://www.dbth.nhs.uk/news/dbth-annual-members-meeting-2021/ which will also contain all of the information you need to access the meeting.
