Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) will be holding an open day for the recruitment of newly and soon-to qualify midwives.

The event will take place Wednesday 26 April, starting at 9.30am in the reception of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Potential recruits will be shown around the Trust’s facilities, as well as given information on the organisation’s services, values and preceptorship programme which is offered to new registrants.  Preceptorship is a structured period to guide and support all newly qualified practitioners to make the transition from student to develop their practice further.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to talk to a number of newly qualified midwives currently working at the Trust, as well as other experienced members of the team who will be on hand to answer any questions and promote the fantastic working environment at DBTH.

Moira Hardy, Acting Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Quality, said: “As a Trust we are looking for midwives intending to start their career within the NHS, who also share our values of putting the patient first, and treating everyone with courtesy, honesty, respect and dignity. I would encourage any new and soon-to-qualify midwives to come along and see what we have to offer and why DBTH should be their employer of choice.”

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals is one of only five teaching hospitals within the region, and boasts a range of services across three main hospital sites, Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw Hospital and Montagu Hospital, serving around 420,000 people across South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire.

If you’re interested in coming to the event, which runs from 9.30am to 1.00pm, please email Julie.shaw@dbh.nhs.uk or Lynne.Crewe@dbh.nhs.uk to confirm your attendance.
