The Trust that runs Bassetlaw Hospital is holding an open event next week for anyone interested in becoming a Service Assistant.

The open event will give people the opportunity to find out more about the posts that the Trust is looking to fill and what the application process involves.

The event is being held on Thursday 8 June from 11.00am to 2.30pm in the Boardroom at Bassetlaw Hospital.

Kirsty Edmondson-Jones, Director of Estates and Facilities at the Trust, said: “We decided to organise this event because we believe it is important to support those interested in applying to become a service assistant, particularly if they have any questions about the role or the application process.”

During the drop in session potential candidates will be able to meet the Trust’s Service Department team and talk about the role, pick up information about what to expect and the selection process.

Service Assistants within the Trust are vital in ensuring the continuing high standards of cleanliness in the hospital and carry out crucial cleaning, portering, ward catering and housekeeping duties.

Previous experience in care is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. People interested in attending this event should email recruitment@dbh.nhs.uk.
