By sponsoring a star, you’re not only bringing festive cheer to our hospitals, but you’re also promoting the importance of kindness, community, and giving back.
Whether it’s your child’s class, sports team, or any other group, everyone can join together to sponsor a star and make a real difference this holiday season.
How it works:
- Sponsor a star: Sponsorships start at £300, making it an affordable way for groups to contribute meaningfully.
- Pay over time: We know the holidays can be a busy time, which is why we offer the option to pay sponsorships over time, allowing everyone to take part more easily and we can also support with the set-up of Just Giving and similar pages to collate sponsorships.
- Make it a team effort: Rally your class, team, or group to contribute towards a star sponsorship. Together, you can raise funds and help brighten up our hospitals.
Leaderboard: who will raise the most?
This year, we’re adding a fun twist! Each group that sponsors a star will be entered into our leaderboard, where you’ll see which group can raise the most for our hospitals.
Will your child’s class or team take the top spot? It’s a fantastic way to encourage more participation and create a bit of healthy competition while raising even more for patient care.
Fun ideas to raise money as a group:
- Bake sale: Organise a bake sale at school or during a group event, with everyone contributing homemade treats to sell.
- Sponsored walk or run: Get group members to raise sponsorships from family and friends, making it a fun and active way to give back.
- Dress-down day: Organise a dress-down or Christmas jumper day, with each participant making a small donation.
- Raffle or prize draw: Host a raffle and sell tickets within your group or community to raise funds.
- Car wash: Plan a group car wash event, bringing in donations from your local community.
- Craft or Christmas card sale: Make and sell Christmas crafts or cards, with proceeds going towards your star.
- Sponsored silence: Challenge your group to stay silent for a set time in exchange for donations!
- Quiz night: Host a quiz night with a Christmas theme, and invite family and friends to take part.
- Talent show: Organise a talent show where your group showcases their skills and charges a small entry fee.
- Penny collection jar: Set up a collection jar in your group’s meeting area for everyone to contribute their spare change.

This is a long-term fundraising campaign
We understand that raising funds can take time, so there’s no rush. If your group needs longer to reach the target, you can continue your fundraising efforts into the new year to complete your star sponsorship.
In fact, groups are welcome to raise more than the initial £300 sponsorship, allowing you to make an even bigger impact on patient care. Every donation, no matter the amount or timing, makes a difference, and we’re grateful for your continued support.
